| Mark Montini was born and raised in a small steel town outside of Pittsburgh,
PA, where his father worked as an electrician at the local mill for over
35 years while wiring houses as a side job. This strong work ethic was
instilled in him at an early age.
After high school, Mark attended Tulane University in New Orleans, where
he played football and graduated with a Civil Engineering degree. After
graduation, Mark worked for design/build firms in Port Arthur, TX and Tampa,
FL before becoming a partner in a precast concrete company in Tampa, where
he worked for 19 years. During this time he was responsible for sales,
design, fabrication and delivery of components for a variety of residential
and commercial buildings.
He acted as owner/builder on two residences, a 3500 square foot personal
residence and a 2000 square
foot vacation log home in Maggie Valley, where his family first fell in
love with Western North Carolina. Since moving to Asheville two years ago,
he acted as owner/builder of his personal residence in Poplar Ridge, where
he also completed a 4,550 square foot Spec
Home and has begun construction on another spec home of over 5,100
sq.ft.

he has over 24 years of design and construction experience in addition
to being an NC licensed structural engineer and unlimited residential contractor.
Mark's education in engineering has taught him organizational and problem-solving
skills, and his experience in team sports, throughout grade school, college,
and now, coaching youth sports, has emphasized the importance of teamwork
and communication.
Timberline plans to build only 1-3 homes per year in the $400,000.-
$1,000,000 price range, initially targeting upper scale developments as
Poplar Ridge, along with specs on infill lots in established communities.
Although it has become a worn out cliche', Mark prides himself on his "hands-on"
involvement throughout design and construction, which is the cornerstone
on which Timberline is built.
